Opening page without content-finder

The content-finder is a great tool that makes life easier for the content authors.

But sometimes you have a situation whereby you don't really need the content-finder for a set of pages and want to open the page without the content-finder.

I will explain in this blogpost how to disable the content-finder for certain pages.

I will take the Geometrixx Content Page as an example for this article.

This template is implemented by this page component : /apps/geometrixx/components/contentpage.

In this page component you have add this property "cq:defaultView" with the value "html".

When you now open the page via siteadmin it will now be opened without the content-finder.

    Thanks for this. Seems like this was from the Twitter conversation that a few of us had about how to accomplish this. The use case I was looking for was to hide the content finder on ALL pages by default, because in my development instance I rarely ever need it. In case anyone else is looking for how to do this, I accomplished it by applying the steps in this blog post to the foundation/components/page component. As long as you know that you are manipulating the libs folder, and as long as your application page components eventually inherit from this component, it works great.

    But then the Firefox could not render the sidekick correctly. In Chrome it looks good.

    Most of the time it is a hectic for me, because whenever I try to move from pages to other pages it comes up and disturbs my browsing. Thanks for the tips you have provided to open the pages without the content finder.
